USING MOZILLA TO CREATE WEB PAGES
Start a new page by clicking New in
the toolbar.
1. Under the Format
window scroll down to Title and
Properties.
Fill in the three
dialog boxes.
A) The Title
of your page
B) The Author
(Your name)
C) The Description (A
list of words that relate to your web page. Seach
engines will look for these words.)
2. Save your
page.
Under
the File
window use the Save
as command. Find your web
folder and save it there.
A) Do NOT
use spaces.
(An underscore _ may be used for a space.)
B) Do NOT
use any marks
of punctuation.
C) Use less
than 34
letters.
3. Use your favorite web browser to find
background images you want to place on your web page.
To save the
image hold
down the control key and click on the picture.
A) When the dialog box opens choose Save Image.
B) Find your web folder
and save it there.
4. To add a
background
Under the Format window
scroll down to Page
Colors and Backgrounds.
Click on the Choose File
circle.
A) Find the image in your web folder that you want
to use as a background.
B) Click Open.
5. Add text
to your page just as you do in any word processor. (Be sure your
readers can easily see it on your background.)
6. Use your favorite web browser to find
images you want to place on your web page.
To save the
image hold
down the control key and click on the picture.
A) When the dialog box opens choose Save Image.
B) Find your web folder and save it there.
7. To add an image to your page
Click on the image icon on the
toolbar or under
the Insert
window choose Image.
A) When the dialog box opens click on Choose
File.
B)
Find the image in your web folder that you want to use.
C) Click Open.
D) Type
a name in the
box named Alternate text.
E) Click on the Dimensions
tab at the top of the window.
F) Choose Custom
Size (make sure the largest number in the height or width box is
less than 300. if
not type in a number to
replace the largest number.)
7A. To add more than one picture in a row to your
web page
Click on the Table icon on the
toolbar or under
the Insert
window choose Table.
A) Fill in the boxes for Rows, Columns, Width.
If you want a border around the table type a
number in the Border box.
The higher the number the thicker the
border. A zero in the border box puts a red table on the
page that will not show on
your page when it is on the web.
B) Double click on the table.
C) When the dialog box opens click on the Table tab.
D) Set Table
Alignment to Center and
click OK.
E. Use the Align Center
button on the tool bar to center picture and words in the table cells.
8. Don't forget to save your page
in your web
folder.
