Care / Supplies
Hamster Cage

This Section of my website is what supplies you should buy for your hamster and how to care for your furry friend.

Lets start with supplies you will need for your hamster. You will need the following:

Quality cage like the one in the picture above,

A hamster wheel,

Hamster food (which is mostly seeds or fruit),

A water bottle ( for hamsters of course),

Bedding,

A hamster ball,

A paper towel tube,

Food Dish,

and

Chew Sticks.

All of this supplies could be found at your local pet store or at a nearby Wal-Mart.

Now, to care for your hamster, Assemble the quality cage that you have bought. Also include putting the hamster wheel in while your assembling. After you have assembled your cage, you can put the bedding that you bought in the bottom of the cage. Next, put the food dish with food in it in one corner of the cage. Fill the water bottle up with water and but it through the hole at the top of the cage, or hook it to the side of the cage (which ever cage you have). Take the paper towel tube and cut it in half, use one of the halves for putting in the cage for your little one and put the other half away untill you clean its cage ( you should clean your hamster's cage every week ). Put the chew sticks at the bottom of the cage, you can just lay them on top of the bedding and the hamster will do what he/ she wants with them. Before you play with your hamsters, you should always wash your hands. You should do this because if they smell a odor or a food smell on your hands then the hamster will foolishly think you are food and bite you. When you first take your hamster home, you should leave him in his cage for 2 days so he can get used to its suroundings before you hold or put your hamster in the ball to roll around your house.
